Massage

Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) are Health Care Professionals who are certified by and registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. At the Core, our RMTs use a variety of hands on techniques, specifically Shiatsu, to address muscle pain and tension as a result of training and injury. Massage helps relieve neck and back stress or to enhance overall well-being and prevent injury.

Massage Therapy is the practice of manipulating the body’s soft tissues to reduce pain, soreness, muscle spasms and stress. Our local Massage Therapists use their hands and arms to hold, move and/or apply pressure to most of the body’s soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. This type of therapy is very effective at helping to relieve chronic conditions associated with traumatic injuries, overuse and stress. These can include lower back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue and more. In the event of injuries, either from repetitive strain such as poor posture or from trauma such as an accident or surgery, massage therapy can manually stretch muscles, reduce muscle spasms, increase the range of motion of joints and help to break down scar tissue.

Our massage therapy treatment sessions are usually 30 to 90 minutes long, depending on the condition treated. Each patient is assessed and treated for their individual and specific needs.
